We are looking for an outstanding leader to join our fast-growing team as Counsel, Regulatory in the EMEA region. Based in Berlin, you'll report to the regional Head of Legal. You will advise on and manage a fascinating variety of regulatory and compliance issues across EMEA at one of the fastest growing startups in history. What You'll Do

• Perform statutory and regulatory assessments of the landscape of existing federal and local laws affecting Lime’s planned operations in new markets
• Serve as a strategic partner to the Government Relations and Operations teams and assist with the negotiation and conclusion of contractual arrangements with public authorities, governmental bodies and municipalities
• Review proposed federal and municipal ordinances, permits, operating agreements and other draft regulatory language as needed across state and regional territories to determine fit with Lime’s business needs, supporting Lime’s regional government relations team in local policy negotiations
• Draft new legislative and regulatory language for Lime’s proactive policy priorities at the municipal, state, and federal levels
• Help define and manage procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and the timely handling of legal requests (including, in particular, managing claims and data access requests from law enforcement authorities)
• Build and facilitate a scalable compliance program to comply with new and existing legislation, regulation, operational agreements and memoranda of understanding

자격 요건 (About You)

규제 카운셀러로서의 자격 요건에 대해서 언급하고 있습니다.

About You

• Fluent in German with excellent written and spoken English skills with proficiency in French as a plus.
• Qualified lawyer with 5-7+ years relevant experience. Some subject matter knowledge of urban transportation and land use policy and regulatory principles preferred.
• Familiarity with existing municipal permitting approaches for commercial shared mobility operators a big plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-focused advice to clients.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to drive issues to a quick resolution that factors in many non-legal variables, such as brand-risk, communications, government relations, tax, insurance, finance and other business units. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
• Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring.
• Proven high-performing legal experience in an in-house environment. Startup experience is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to clients.
• Knowledge of and relevant experience in GDPR preferred.
• Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues, particularly in a fast-paced corporate setting.
• Strong collaborative leadership skills.
• Track record of proactively and building and maintaining productive relationships with business and corporate functional leaders.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
• Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
• First class interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner”.
